Born: In 1874 in Pradesh, India.

Family: He was one of six children born to William and Mary Louisa Roche. He married Dorothy Hatton in Exeter, Devon and together they had one son, born posthumously.

Residence: In 1881 he was living with his parents and siblings in West End, Whitchurch, Shropshire. By 1891 they had moved to Alkington Road, Whitchurch.

Employment: He was admitted to Whitchurch Grammar school in 1886 By 1891 he was a joiner’s apprentice.

Death: 26 September 1919 on board ship and was buried at sea. He is commemorated on the Whitchurch Town memorial.
