Born: 26th October 1873 in Burleydam, Cheshire and baptised on 7 December the same year in Burleydam Parish Church.
Family: He was one of three children born to James and Catherine Jane Archer. No marriage can be located for him.
Residence: At the time of his baptism he was living at Park View, Burleydam with his parents and siblings; by 1881 they had moved to The Castle, Sledmore, Driffield, Yorkshire. In 1891 he was living with his mother and siblings at Drax Abbey, Drax, Selby, Yorkshire and by 1901 they had moved to 21 Park View, Harrogate, Yorkshire.
Employment: In 1891 he was a land estate agent. When he enlisted in 1900 he gave his occupation as horse breaker and in the 1901 census his occupation was stated as surveyor’s clerk.
Died: In 1929, aged 55, in Leeds, Yorkshire.
