Family: He was one of nine children born to Edward and Emily Jane Clarke. He married Margaret Ann Lydia Allmand in February 1903in Oswestry, Shropshire. Bertam and Margaret had one child together
Residence: In 1881 and 1891 he lived at the Drill Inn, Morda Road, Oswestry, Shropshire with his parents and siblings. In 1901 he was on military service in South Africa
Employment: He was a farmer at the time he enlisted.
Death: 20 August 1930 in Oswestry, Shropshire. He was 55 years old
