Born: 5 November 1875 in Tilstock, Shropshire.
Family: He was one of eight children born to John and Sarah Corfield. John junior married Ruth Annie Millington on 12 February 1902 in Whitchurch, Shropshire and together they had five children.
Residence: In 1881 he lived with his family in Hollin Lane, Whitchurch; by 1891 they had moved to Farm Lane, Whitchurch and in 1901, whilst John was serving in South Africa the family lived in Belton Road, Whitchurch.
Employment: He was apprenticed to his father, a master builder.
Death: 24 September 1975 in Doncaster, Yorkshire, aged 99.
