Born: 31st August 1877 in Bickley, Cheshire and baptised on 30th September 1877 in St. Oswald’s Church, Malpas

Family: He was the younger of two children born to Edwin and Susan Edge. He married Elizabeth H Turtle in 1915 at Lincoln. Together they had at least one child.

Residence: In 1881 and 1891 he was living in Painter’s Green, Iscoyd, Flintshire, Wales with his family. In 1901 he was serving in South Africa.

Employment: He was a draper, apprenticed to Belfield of Whitchurch, Shropshire, when he enlisted.

Death: 1st January 1968, aged 90, in Chislehurst, Kent.
