Born: In 1880 in Dudley, Worcestershire.

Family: He was the only son of Patrick and Margaret Hagan. No marriage has been traced for William.

Residence: In 1900 William’s address was St James Terrace, Dudley. Worcestershire, the same as his mother. However, he was living in Pepper Street, Whitchurch, Shropshire when he enlisted in 1914 and his WW1 medals were sent to Mrs Holbrook, Castle Hill, Whitchurch.

Employment: He was a moulder when he enlisted.

Death: Died of wounds in France on 27 November 1914 whilst serving in WW1
