Family: His parents cannot be conclusively identified; he had a sister, Marie. He married Mary Angelina Quinn in November 1895 in Fareham, Hampshire and together they had eight children.
Residence: In 1871 he was living in the Union Workhouse in Whitchurch, Shropshire; in 1881 he was a live-in servant in Tilston, Cheshire. He enlisted in September 1881 and was serving in India, Burma and South Africa. His address when discharged in 1903 was 3 Sea View Terrace, Sandgate, Kent.
Employment: He was a groom when he enlisted in 1881
Death: In 1932 in Romney Marsh, Kent aged 70
