Born: 22 February 1871 in Bronington, Flintshire, Wales and baptised 9 April the same year in Bronington Parish Church.

Family: He was the eldest of seven children born to John and Ann Healey (nee Stockton). He married Harriet Ann Evans on 19 April 1897 in Crewe, Cheshire and together they had six children.

Residence: In 1871 and 1881he lived with his parents in Little Green, Bronington; by 1891 they had moved to New Farm, Bronington. At the time of his marriage in 1897 he was living at 24 Station Street, Crewe, Cheshire. He was discharged to 13 Dorfold Street, Crewe and this remained Charles’s address until the time of his death in 1942.

Employment: He was a railway fireman when he enlisted.

Death: 29 June 1942 at The Cheshire County Hospital, Nantwich aged 71 and buried in Crewe cemetery.
