Born: In 1877 in Whitchurch, Shropshire and was baptised on 31 January the same year in St. Alkmund’s Parish Church, Whitchurch.
Family: He was the youngest of four children born to Joseph Jones, a groom, and his wife Ann (or Annie). He married Alice Thompson in 1905 at St Alkmund’s Parish Church, Whitchurch and together they had two children named Ronald and Winifred Ivy.
Residence: At the time of his baptism the family were living in Claypit Street; by 1881 they were living in Folly Lane, Whitchurch. By 1891 he was living at 37 Green End which remained his address for the rest of his life.
Employment: He was a tailor.
Death: 14 January 1937 in Whitchurch, aged 60, and was buried in Whitchurch cemetery 4 days later.
