Family: He was one of two children born to John and Ellen Jones. He married Mary Ethel Wood in 1911 in Hanover Square, London. It has not been possible to identify any children for their marriage.

Employment: He was commissioned into the army straight after graduating from New College, Oxford. He had previously attended Eton College.
Death: 31 August 1940 in Overton, Flintshire aged 69.
