Born: In 1876 in Whitchurch, Shropshire and baptised 2 March the same year in St. Alkmund’s parish church.

Family: He was the fourth of six children born to Charles Stockton, a railway platelayer, and his wife Mary. He married Laura Evans in October 1902 in Llanfyllin, Montgomeryshire, Wales and together they had five children.

Residence: In 1881 he was living with his parents and siblings in Railway Crossing, Brick Kiln Lane, Black Park, Whitchurch where the family continued to live until at least the time of Albert’s discharge in August 1902

Employment: He was a railway platelayer when he enlisted.

Death: 1927 in Nantwich, Cheshire, aged 51. He was buried on 27April that year.
