Family: Youngest of five children born to Morris Thomas and his wife Fanny. Brother of Edward, George, Hannah, and Richard. Married Mary E Roberts at Nantwich in 1910. Together they had a daughter Edna Florence
Residence: At the time of baptism the parish registers record Samuel’s family as living in Claypit Street, Whitchurch. The 1891 Census lists the Thomas family at 10 Claypit Street. Ten years later they were inhabiting 13 Claypit Street, and it was from this address that Samuel enlisted.
Employment: In the 1901 Census Samuel’s occupation is given as a gardener
Death: 29th May 1944 in Doncaster, Yorkshire, aged 58
