Other information:  Richard’s brother, Harry, also served in the Imperial Yeomanry during the Second Boer War.

Born:  21 February 1878 in Mansfield, Nottinghamshire and baptised 1 November 1893, aged 15 at St. Alkmund`s Parish Church, Whitchurch, Shropshire.

Family: He was the youngest of 11 children born to John Walker, a baker and his wife Mary Sophia, nee Cullis. No marriage can be found for him.

Residence:  In 1881 he was living with his parents and siblings at Portland Villas, Mansfield, Nottinghamshire. By 1891 the family had moved to Way Mills, Whitchurch, Shropshire.

Employment:   On his Attestation in 1900 his occupation was given as a farmer.

Death: 10 February 1932, aged 53, at Peckleton House, Chester Road, Whitchurch, Shropshire and buried in Whitchurch Cemetery on 13 February.

Other information: His occupation in 1911 was a baker and confectioner.
