Other information: Thomas joined the Oxford Militia in 1894 before transferring to the Scots Guards in 1899. He went on to have a distinguished military career, rising to the rank of Captain – more information can be found on our Great War site

Born: Oak Cottage, New Woodhouse, Whitchurch, Shropshire on 23 June 1876

Family: He was one of six children born to Col Charles Rivers Bulkeley and his wife Constance Clementine. He married Annie Evelyn Pelly on 19 April 1913 in Westminster, London and together they had one child named Robert, Henry Arthur.

Residence: His home address was Oak Cottage, New Woodhouse, Whitchurch until he entered military service.

Employment: He entered military service directly from Eton College.

Died: He was killed in action on 22 October 1914 at the Battle of the Somme and is commemorated at the Ypres (Menin Gate) memorial.
